10 BEST BEACHES IN MYKONOS
1. Kalafati, Mykonos sporty beach
If you’ve been reading our blog for a while or following us on IG, you would know that we are rather the sporty type of couple! We love water activities!
Kalafati Beach is known as the sports beach of Mykonos. Besides its beautiful coastline perfect for relaxing, the beach also offers great water activities, such as windsurfing, kayaking, stand-up paddling, etc.
The beach is rather large, you won’t have any problem finding a space here.
2. Kalo Livadi, the dreamy beach
Halfway between the two beaches of Elia and Kalafatis, Kalo Livadi invites you to daydream.
Indeed, a Caribbean atmosphere, a stretch of golden sand more than 600 meters long, and a shallow, clear blue sea make this beach one of the most popular destinations for summer vacationers. WE – LOVE – THIS – PLACE!
Relax on the expansive beach, and explore the awe-inspiring bay on a long seaside walk. Dig into the soft sand with your kids or simply enjoy the crystal clear waters of Kalo Livadi Beach while swimming and snorkeling. Finally, relax at one of the beach restaurants and enjoy delicious local specialties and cold drinks.
3. Fokos, Mykonos wildest beach
Fokos is the beach furthest away from any kind of activities on the island! Getting there will require driving through dirt roads!
In reality, this is its main asset, which makes it the quietest beach on the island. In a small wild bay, you can enjoy a very different atmosphere from that of most beaches in Mykonos.
Moreover, some even come to ride there on horseback. In addition, for lovers of good food, the Fokos local tavern is a must.
We had lunch at the tavern and then chilled on the beach. It was such a delightful moment…
4. Paradise Beach, the liveliest!
Located south of Mykonos, Paradise Beach lives up to its name.
Indeed, the beach of fine golden sand, the turquoise water, and the fantastic atmosphere make Paradise Beach one of the best beaches in Mykonos!
Lay back on the sand to work on your tan, go snorkeling, or simply swim in the crystal clear waters.
In the early evening, enjoy a multitude of bars and beach clubs located along the promenade. The clubs stay open pretty late for those of you who like to party!
5. Super Paradise Beach
Super Paradise Beach completes Paradise Beach.
Indeed, located right next to it, this beautiful stretch of beach with an incomparable atmosphere offers the necessary comfort to spend a relaxing day at the beach.
So it’s no surprise that this idyllic spot fills up quickly, especially during the summer months. However, during your trip, don’t miss out on visiting this amazing place which is worth it.
Indeed, swim in the shallow waters, and go snorkeling to discover the magnificent underwater world that it shelters. After a splendid sunset, enjoy the unique beach parties and immerse yourself in the unique lively atmosphere of Super Paradise beach.
6. Agios Sostis, the hidden gem and one of our favorite beaches in Mykonos
We discovered this beach totally randomly. We were heading to another place, took a wrong turn, went down the hill, and reached this gem! We then spent pretty much the entire afternoon here, as we loved it so much…
Among all the beaches of Mykonos, Agios Sostis is one of the most preserved. It is located in the hollow of a bay on the north coast, far from the hustle and bustle. Thus, it attracts lots of young couples – just like us 😉
Overlooking the bay, you can have lunch at the fabulous Kiki’s Tavern.
7. Megali Ammos, the closest to Chora
Among the beaches not to be missed during your stay in Mykonos, is Megali Ammos. Indeed, located near the old town of Chora, this long white sand beach is the ideal place to spend a day by the sea.
Staying around this beach is a good place since it’s close to Chora. You can then combine a beach holiday with the charm of the old town.
The sand is not as fine as other beaches, but the sea is beautiful.
8. Agios Ioannis, the most family-oriented beach
The small bay of Agios Ioannis is a true paradise for families with young children. Indeed, even during the summer months, you will always find a quiet little corner there.
So, don’t miss out on discovering this splendid beach during your trip to Mykonos. Enjoy the golden sand that gently slopes into the turquoise sea.
Bring your mask and snorkel to discover the multicolored underwater world of this Greek island up close.
9. Kapari Beach, one of our favorite Mykonos Beach
Not far from the famous beach of Agios Ioannis lies a gem, the small beach of Kapari. Although it remained secret for a long time, it is now quite busy in the summer but remains quiet the rest of the year. From the sand and rocks, you can enjoy a view of Delos and, in the evening, a superb sunset.
From our point of view, Kapari is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches to swim in Mykonos!
