Let’s start with one of our favorite country in the entire world: JAPAN!

We spent a few months traveling through Japan by car! We had the time of our lives. We can’t recommend enough this beautiful country.
2. Vietnam
For your honeymoon, head to Vietnam, a fascinating country home to magnificent landscapes and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Sunsets with your toes in the sand, a romantic cruise on the legendary Halong Bay, walks in the jungle or rice fields: Vietnam is definitely one of the most romantic destinations in Asia.

3. Thailand
If you’ve never been to Asia before, then we highly recommend to start with Thailand! For us, this is one of the most fascinating countries in South East Asia! There is so much to see, so many temples, a unique culture, incredible food, and it’s the land of smiles! So expect to meet some of the most beautiful people!
During your honeymoon, you can discover breathtaking beaches but also the visit the exciting capital Bangkok!

4. India
India is often considered one of the best honeymoon destinations in Asia thanks to its incredible diversity, rich culture, and breathtaking landscapes.

We lived in Bali many months during our sabbatical. We enjoyed every single bit of it. It’s probably one of the places we will cherish forever and would love to call home somedays.
However, there is not only Bali that is worth visiting in Indonesia. Places like Lombok, Nusa Penida, Java’s volcanoes or Borobudur. There are so many places to visit, that it would probably take a lifetime to discover them all!

The warm hospitality, incredible food, and charming boutique hotels added even more magic to the experience. 8. South Korea
South Korea might not be the first place that comes to mind when planning a honeymoon in Asia, but in recent years, Korean culture through K-Dramas, K-Pop, and award-winning movies like Parasite, has sparked a growing curiosity about this fascinating country.
We had the chance to live in South Korea for nearly four years and discovered some incredible hidden gems that very few tourists know about.
For history and culture, head to Gyeongju, the ancient capital of Korea. Want to experience the beauty of rice paddies? Visit Namhae. If surfing is your thing, Yangyang is Korea’s surf capital. Prefer hiking? Seoraksan is one of the most breathtaking national parks we’ve ever explored.

9. The Maldives

During our trip to the Maldives, we were amazed by how romantic and peaceful it felt. Imagine waking up in an overwater villa, diving into crystal-clear waters filled with colorful marine life, or enjoying a private sunset dinner on the beach. Whether you’re into snorkeling, island hopping, or simply relaxing with your partner in absolute serenity, the Maldives has it all.

Some of our favorite spots include Jiufen, a charming hillside town with lantern-lit streets that feels like stepping into a movie. For romance and stunning views, head to Sun Moon Lake, where you can cycle around the sparkling water or take a boat ride at sunset. If you love the outdoors, Taroko Gorge is an absolute highlight, with its dramatic marble cliffs and hiking trails. And of course, don’t miss the hot spring resorts in Beitou, perfect for relaxing as a couple.
